Royal Hague

Since Prince Maurits settled in The Hague in 1585, the city has been the home and workplace of the king and his family. Thanks to its many historical monuments, residential and working palaces, The Hague is therefore known as a royal city. You might just run into a member of the royal family. And when a new ambassador arrives in The Hague, they are taken by royal carriage to Noordeinde Palace for a meeting with the king.
The Hague is also an ideal city for shopping. Typical Hague chic can be found around Noordeinde and Denneweg. Historical shopping can be done in the beautiful covered Passage. In the Prinsestraat and the Oude Molstraat hip The Hague hits its stride. And in addition to the many shops in Chinatown, the Grote Markt has been home to the luxury department store de Bijenkorf since 1926.
